Opus One was founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and famous Napa Valley winemaker Robert Mondavi. Overture is the second wine. It is the timeless embodiment of the soul of Opus One vineyards. This remarkable terroir is fully expressed in the complex aromas, notes and textures of Overture.
The characteristic blackberry and cassis aromas of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon blend perfectly with the aromas of black cherry, currant and violet brought by 5% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec.. The blend of lots and several vintages, followed by prolonged aging in barrels, gives. It is the consecration of the art of blending five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties and sublimating the qualities of a single grape cultivated on different terroirs.Aged in new French oak,

"This is supple with clear ripe berry fruits, generous and fully ripe, tempered by white pepper spice and smoked cedar notes. It has a gentle but confident tannic frame and mouthwatering lift on the finish. This is focused and ready to drink and impresses with its rippling silk texture."
